How to prepare for your treatment?
Avoid sun exposure, tanning beds, and self-tanner for 4–6 weeks before your session. Don’t apply makeup, lotion, or cream to the area on the day, shave the area if needed (no waxing 3–5 days prior), and avoid alcohol, aspirin, and ibuprofen for 24 hours to limit bruising. Ask about antivirals if the tattoo is near your lips.
What to do after your treatment?
Keep the area clean and dry for the first 24 hours, apply a thin layer of healing ointment, and cover with a sterile non-stick dressing if needed. Do not pick, scratch, or pop blisters or scabs this is the main cause of scarring. Avoid pools, hot tubs, saunas, and long baths for a week, skip heavy sweating for 24–48 hours, and use SPF 30+ once healed.
